My Success Story!

A Success Story is about a person called Michael living in London where he is a social outcast and hope that people would remember him and not to be forgotten. His fortune would change one day where he is given an opportunity to put on a show on the theatre to finally put a name on himself. Will the show succeed, or will it flop you can find out by watching the show unfold where it will make you laugh and dazzle like no tomorrow.

Prologue

Michael (Ryan)

(Comes on stage and looks at the crowd with his tuxedo on and has a smile on his face)

Welcome everyone in the audience tonight where I am pleased to tell you my success story on how I have become what I am today.

(Giggles where he just can’t contain his excitement)

I am very proud of what I have done where I am excited to tell you how I got here.

(Looks at his watch and notices the time)

I better start the story so that I don’t drag on.

(The lights dim where dramatic music is being played)

This story starts off at a reunion party with my many friends at high school 10 years ago where it’s hard to believe I am that old with my looks where I will take you there.

High School Reunion

(The scene is set with a table of punch where there are 3 people talking with each other and Michael is there sitting in a lonely chair all by himself)

George (Marcus)

How have you been friends where I had a wonderful 5 years.

Brian (Alex)

Same, I am a scientist working on finding a cure for cancer.

Max (Tomas)

Well, you may have seen me on the TV where I am a news reporter.

George (Marcus)

And I am a dentist where I get rid of plaque on teeth’s.

Brian (Alex)

We have all been successful in life where this is amazing.

Max (Tomas)

I know and that we will remain friends where we have each other’s back.

George (Marcus)

And nothing is going to stop us where you both have been amazing.

(While the 3 friends are talking among each other, at the other end of the room is Michael who is sitting by himself and drinking till the party comes to an end)

Michael (Ryan)

Well, looks like I am all alone at this reunion where no one is willing to talk to me.

(Michael sighs while the 3 friends continue to chat among themselves)

I know that I am still unemployed while I still search for a job, but that doesn’t mean that I have to be invisible to them. They were my friends at high school and we started to drift apart ever since they had successful jobs while I am at rock bottom.

(Michael looks at his watch while he waits to see if they would ever chat with him)

I wish that they can acknowledge me where that is an easy task to do, but they don’t where I am starting to feel blue.

I tried to talk, but they won’t listen.

The Park

(The scene changes to a park with a path and a bench being in this while Michael walking through it)

Michael (Ryan)

That reunion party was a shambles where nobody noticed me and I shouldn’t have gone to it where it felt like a big waste of time.

(Michael sits on the bench)

Michael (Ryan)

I still can’t believe that not one person talked to me where that is so rude to do. I just can’t stand the many people there always chatting about how well they are doing in their life where is it really necessary to say it out loud.
But no, they just kept talking and won’t shut up!

That would teach them a lesson if I became famous where they would get to notice me. But that won’t happen in a million years where it won’t fall from the sky.

(Just at that moment a poster fell from the sky and lands in Michael’s hand)

What were the odds of that happening where this must be a sign. This is a poster that says that you can rent out a theatre for the night.
Seems interesting.

It also says that there would be critics watching the performance and that this could be your chance to fame.

(At that moment, Michael had an idea in his head that this could get him famous)

Wait a second, this might work where I have enough money to make this work and I would be able to put something on for the audience that are watching. Yes, it will work where I can’t wait to show my ‘friends’ what I can do where they will never believe it.

What there is to come – Song 3

Michael (Ryan) (sings)

I’m standing on my own.

Where I will have so many rooms that you will lose count.
I will be crazy to say that this could be mine.

(Michael falls on the floor laughing while holding the poster)

I will be a major star.
I would be signing autographs until my hand aches.
This is just what is going to happen.
Where I am even going to be on the walk of fame.
Just to think that I was hopeless at one point in my life.
Then being famous has sprung me into the spotlight.
This is going to be my chance.

(There is a dance break which Michael takes part with a stick found on a stage where Marcus, Tomas and Alex come on as the 3 friends with Michael dancing around)

(The scene changes to a library which have a book shelf of books to read)
Michael (Ryan)

Here I am at the Library where this will bound to have stuff to do with theatres so that I can put on a show.

(Michael looks for the theatre section in the book shelf)

Here it is where let’s see what kind of shows that I can do. Drama sounds so boring, comedy just doesn’t make sense to me and Shakespeare looks like torture to me. Wait, what is this where this book is about musicals and I must know what they are.

(Michael shows a bewildered face to the audience)

This shows that I don’t really go out that much. It appears to be a play where the dialogue stops and the plot is conveyed through song which is very odd. And an actor starts singing out of nowhere which is getting quite stupid.

Musicals are Spectacular – Song 4

(The song starts as Michael is holding the book in his hand while standing up)

Michael (Ryan) (Sings)

This is the weirdest thing that I have ever heard.
You start to sing out of nowhere, now that is odd.
How should the audience follow this along.
But they think that something has gone wrong.

(Michael looks through the book for the answers)

Because musicals are spectacular.
That’s right spectacular.
They give the people what they want.
They have song and dance.
And most end in a romance.
They have bright lights, catchy tunes and a talented chorus.
This is why musicals are spectacular.

This book is answering my questions, but I am still not convinced by these musicals where I got to read more about it to understand it more.

Musicals can vary with ease.
You could laugh, you could cry.
There is even some that act like plays.
You can reach the heights and defy gravity.
And Alexander Hamilton can even rap.

This is why musicals are spectacular.
I’m down with saying its spectacular.
They give the people what they want.
You would be amazed with the scene.
And tunes you can’t get out of your head.
Where you get standing ovations every night.

Wait, there is a best part to this where I have to see what this is.

And your feet can’t help to step along.
Your hips will shift and you can’t help to tap.

Michael puts down the book and starts tap dancing while Alex, Tomas and Alex come in as the chorus to tap along)

Of course they are spectacular.

They have outrageous clothes.
With some jazz hands to amp up the act.

(Everyone joins in one line and kicking in unison where the fireworks would go off and the song would end in a bang)

(This is using the actually Broadway theatre to show the performance where Michael is going to give an opening speech on the musical with the curtains down)

Michael (Ryan)

Welcome everyone to my premiere of the musical that I have set up for everyone where I am getting excited to show it to you all.

(Michael starts to jump up and down with the excitement of this musical)

This would be amazing and I will like to present to you Oysters Ahoy!

(Michael leaves the stage while the curtain opens revealing Marcus, Tomas and Alex in Oysters costume performing a song and dance number as the chorus)

(The chorus puts their hand on their mouth in shock)

(The chorus exit the stage while Michael comes on dress as an oyster on his own)

(The chorus comes back on for this performance with a sailboat)

Newspaper Stand

(The scene is changed with a newspaper stand and Michael is waiting impatiently for the critic’s response of his show)
Michael (Ryan)

Come on, come on where you can open up this stand much quicker.

Newspaper Guy (Marcus)

Hold your horses where it is not opening time.

(The clock then changes to opening time where the newspaper stand is open)

Michael (Ryan)

Here’s the money where I got to have this newspaper.

Newspaper Guy (Marcus)

I never seen someone that excited about a newspaper before.

Michael (Ryan)

I’m so confident that it would be fantastic and that they will love it where I can’t wait to see their five star reviews. Okay, here is the reviews where this one look can change my life.

(Michael’s facial expression starts being happy, then it comes to anger when getting to the review section)

WHAT!!! These critics are stupid where they all have given my musical one star. I can’t believe this and they don’t know when a good show hits them in their face. I will show them what a good show this truly was.

The Show is a Masterpiece – Song 6

Michael (Ryan) (Sings)

What is wrong with them.
Have they been hit in the head.
The critics gave a "one" on my performance.
They said, "This is a show,
But it was just so bad."
I could have told them.

And that is why they are wrong.

That will teach those critics on who is the boss where I know what makes a good performance where they know nothing about the show I did.

Michael (Ryan)

My show was fantastic where those critics know nothing of what makes a good performance. But they are professional critics where they saw loads of different shows. Maybe the critics might be right after all.

(Michael shows shock in his face as he is starting to realise that his show might not be the masterpiece he thought he was)

No, what am I saying where they don’t know what the audience thinks. But the audience members didn’t felt like clapping where I just remembered that no one clapped during my show. Heck half the theatre was empty when the show has come to an end. Maybe it was my fault that this happened where I was not prepared at all.

(Michael starts to stand up as he admit what has really happened with the show where there is sadness showing in his face)

I should have done more research and made my story better where it was hard to follow. But you know, this was a start where I am not giving up after this performance. I will continue to shine and one day, it will finally happen. I will never give up on my dreams where success don’t happen overnight and I will work hard to get there where this is who I am destined to be.

That is the end of the story where it wasn’t really a successful one. But this has helped me to never give up on my dream and I eventually managed to pull off a successful production that has won awards and have leaped myself into fame. So the lesson here is, continue your dream where you should never give up on it and one day, you could end up like me.

(Michael smiles as he tries to encourage the audience to never give up on your dreams)
